Joan from Editorial Celya came by last Monday and dropped off 100 copies of Entre jamones, with the title set correctly on the spine. Now all I have to do is write a one hour speech for the presentation next Tuesday! That and sell all these books…

Two day ago I got a copy of the «error card» version of Entre jamones. I was trying to make lemons out of lemonade and obtain the remaining copies, but it seems this won’t be possible. Still, I have an actual book in my hands, and that’s cool!
Hace dos días recibí una copia de la versión «error card» de Entre jamones. Estuve intentando aprovechar de una mala situación y conseguir las copias restantes, pero parece que no puede ser. De todas formas, tengo un libro de verdad en las manos, y es muy chulo.

Today I’m meeting with a friend of a friend who works at the library in Guadalajara. She’s preparing a series of roundtables on immigrants and emigrants. If the book is ready by October, I might be her guinea pig! I’ll publish the date if it all pans out.
Hoy reuniré coon la amiga de una amiga quien trabaja en la biblioteca de Guadalajara. Está preparando una serie de mesas redondas sobre inmigrantes y emigrantes. Si el libro esté listo en Octubre, podré ser su conejillo de indias. Publicaré la fecha si se haga realidad.

An «error card» is when a sports playing card (traditionally baseball, but any sport) has a mistake. The manufacturer recalls the cards and halts production, making the card rare, and so more valuable. The printer made a mistake on the first run of Entre jamones, so I get two copies but have to wait longer for the real deal. Maybe the «error card» 1st editions will become highly valuable!

Una «error card» es el nombre para una tarjeta de beisbol (tradicionalmente, ahora cualquier deporte) tiene una errata. El fabricante frena la producción, haciendo escasa esa edición, lo cual la hace más valiosa. La imprenta se equivocó con la primera impresión de Entre jamones, así que recibo dos copias pero tengo que esperar para la primera serie de verdad. ¡Tal vez las copias «error card» se harán super caras!

Well, after eight revisions, my eyes crossed and I decided to give the publisher the go-ahead. Entre jamones parte I is being printed as I write this. Or maybe it’s already printed, I’m not sure. But it’s coming out soon!

Bueno, despues de ocho revisiones, se me cruzaron los ojos y decidí darle el OK al editorial. Entre jamones parte I se imprime mien tras escribo esto, o tal vez ya está impreso, no estoy seguro. ¡Pero sale pronto!

Anteayer reuní con el editor de Celya, y me dijo que Entre jamones parte I podría estar impreso para la tercera semana de agosto. No llega a tiempo para la mesa redonda en Fuenteguinaldo sobre inmigrantes, tristemente, pero hay luz al final del túnel.

I met with the editor from Celya two days ago, and Entre jamones parte I will likely be in print by the third week of August. Sadly, that won’t be in time for the roundtable on immigration in Fuenteguinaldo, but at least there’s light at the end of the tunnel!
